After my mad eastern tour, I hope to be heading up to Kootenay Lake to do a little research. But after that, you can catch me on zoom on August 14 at 9:00 am MDT, where I am moderating a discussion for When Words Collide, with crime fiction authors Tony Berryman, Alice Bienia, Susan Wright and Sarah Kades on what it takes for a character to risk it all and actually pull the trigger. Should be fun!
I will be at Word Vancouver on September 25th I’ll be hosting a fascinating discussion with fellow writers, Tara Moss, JT Siemens, and Liz Ireland, about plotters and pantsers: 2 of us are pantsers and 2 of us are plotters…it should be an intriguing discussion!
I’ll be a appearing at a couple of book clubs as well, and that brings me to BOOK CLUBS! Feel free to look over the great discussion questions I’ve offered here on my website to seed the discussion in your book club, if you’re doing a Lane Winslow Mystery, or indeed, invite me along! I love doing Book Clubs!
I just finished the last book in the Lane Winslow series and am anxiously waiting for word that another one is on the way! I thoroughly enjoyed this series and have recommended it to others. Would you please add me to whatever email list you have to let me know when your next book is being published? It is nice to add another Canadian mystery writer to the list of excellent authors.
Hi Iona
I’m a half Scottish half French librarian living in New Zealand. I have just discovered and become addicted to your Lane Winslow series. It was with great pleasure that I discovered there are more books to follow the current one, book 2 (I am adoring the descriptions of snowy landscapes, misty lakes etc). I am hoping to visit Canada at some point (do lots of travelling actually, due to struggling with empty nest syndrome!) and maybe even live in a town somewhere and try the Canadian lifestyle. Are there any places you would recommend as friendly with lots of artists, musicians, bookey people? Better to be in a town or a city? Anyway thanks heaps for writing the books, they cheer me no end and send me to beautiful places in my mind.
Kind regards
Claudine
Thanks for coming to Kaslo tonight Iona I really enjoyed your talk! I love that your books take place in this area which makes them so much easier to visualize. I can’t wait to read #9 and then #10 next April.
Wondering when books 7 and 8 will be available on audio? Love this series!
I have just finished book #9 and have preordered #10. I absolutely love the Lane Winslow series and have recommended it to many friends.
There is something I have wished for as I have read each book and that is a map of King’s Cove and the surrounding area. Is there one or plans to publish one? Of course I have developed a picture in my mind, but it doesn’t always match a written description, and it would be so helpful to have a visual available.
I’ve learned a lot while reading your books and feel that I know your characters well.
Iona–I was first made aware of your books in the Antioch College Alumni newsletter several years ago. I graduated from Antioch in 1975, so we would have barely overlapped. I spent most of my time in the Science building, a bit in the art studios, and a lot of time walking in Glen Helen.
I have loved reading your books and have recommended them to others. My husband and I have lived in Olympia, Washington for over 30 years, so feel somewhat connected to British Columbia. We visited Nelson and the area around it after we dropped our youngest child off at Washington State University, south of Spokane, in 2006. In reading in your books about Nelson, the Doukhobors community, and the Japanese Interment near Nelson, I was taken back to that trip and what a wonderful part of the world it is. Thank you for writing these books, which I feel were really written just for me! Looking forward to the next one.
I have just discovered your books and am a new fan! I look forward to reading all the Lane Winslow series during the long, lazy summer.
Please tell me you are working also on another Lane Winslow mystery! I recently discovered your works and have just completed the series. To Track a Traitor was as good as ever! I am addicted to your detailed descriptions and love the characters. Do keep this series alive!
I love your Lane Winslow mysteries. I went to grade 12 at LVR and some of my friends knew you when you lived out the lake! I graduated in 1966, so a bit after you had already left. My sister found your books and hooked our sister and brother on the series . She even went to a book signing in BC. I ended up moving to NB 2 yr ago. I buy your books here and just finished reading To Track A Traitor. I hope there will be more of the series
I am so enjoying the Lane Winslow series. You are such a marvelous author. I try to read, well binge-read actually, at least one Canadian author a year and this is the year of Winslow. I look forward to any new books by you. Hopefully Nova Scotia will be included in a book tour soon but I do realize that travelling so far from your home is difficult, especially at our age. Take care and stay safe on your journeys this summer.
Hello Iona,
I just loved your latest book. Thankyou for giving us much a wonderful role model in Lane.
I would love to see you in Waterloo, Ontario. Do you know that date you’ll be at Wordsworth books?
I am hosting a book club on Aug. 30 and I am introducing A Killer in Kings Cove to my book club. I didnt know whether to go eith the first one or another one? Any thoughts?
Best regards,
Nashifa
